FISHIN' FRENZY

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

FISHIN' FRENZY is one of those games I opened planning to test for ten minutes and then looked up an hour later. The core loop is simple: you cast a line, wait for a bite, and reel in with a light tap-and-swipe rhythm. There's a gentle tension when a fish tugs and the line meter wobbles, and getting the timing right feels genuinely satisfying.

The controls are the highlight. Everything happens with one thumb, so it's comfortable in portrait mode on a bus or in bed. The reeling minigame never gets frantic — it's more about reading the fish than mashing the screen. As you catch more, you unlock new spots and slightly trickier catches, which keeps the sense of progress going without any pressure.

Performance is easy on the hardware. On my three-year-old budget phone it stayed smooth and barely warmed up, and the battery drain over a long session was modest. If you turn off the ambient water effects in settings you'll stretch it even further. It's a great pick-up-and-put-down game.
