About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat between three friends who kept sending each other screenshots of games we couldn't stop playing. At some point we realized we were writing better notes than most of the reviews we found online, so we moved everything to a proper site.,We're a small independent team. Nobody pays us to say nice things, and we don't run sponsored posts dressed up as reviews. When we like something we say so, and when a game drains your battery in forty minutes or hides everything behind a wall of menus, we say that too.,Our picks come from what people around us are actually playing, plus a steady stream of new releases we install and test. A game earns a spot in the catalog only after at least one editor has spent real time with it — usually several days, sometimes weeks.,We care about the boring practical stuff most reviews skip: touch controls, screen layout on small phones, how settings affect battery life, and whether a game respects your time. That's the whole point of the site.

Marek Dvořák — Marek has been reviewing handheld and mobile games for over a decade and still keeps a drawer full of old phones for testing. He's the one who insists every game gets played on a cheap device too, not just a flagship.
